Kansas City Kansas Community College utilizes Turnitin, an originality checker to Encourage original work, investigate authorship, and deter your students from submitting assignments that compromise the institution’s integrity.
Turnitin is an originality checking and plagiarism prevention service that checks student writing for citation mistakes or inappropriate copying. When students submit their paper in Blackboard, Turnitin compares it to text in its massive database of student work, websites, books, articles, etc.
Turnitin is integrated into the Assignment tool in all online and face to face Blackboard courses and is managed by Online Education Services. This means that when students upload a paper to your course shell for grading, it will automatically be sent through Turnitin’s repository. The Similarity Report that it generates will help you identify possible instances of plagiarism.
